Heavy Equipment Operator – Full Time (Waterloo Region)
Kieswetter Excavating Inc. is a fourth-generation, family-owned excavating contractor based in St. Clements, ON, working on some of Waterloo Region's highest-profile civil construction projects — site grading, site servicing, sewer and watermain, and earthworks. What you'll do:
- Operate excavators, dozers, or other heavy equipment on active civil sites.
- Perform daily equipment inspections and routine maintenance checks.
- Read and work to grade stakes, levels, and trenching plans.
- Flag and communicate equipment issues or unsafe site conditions immediately.
- Follow Kieswetter's safety program and site-specific protocols.
- Coordinate with the site supervisor on project layout, locates, and daily production targets.
What you bring:
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to job sites across Waterloo Region.
- Previous experience operating heavy equipment in construction, excavation, or a similar outdoor trade.
- Working knowledge of grades, levels, and trenching.
- Physical stamina for full days on an active job site.
- A sharp eye for hazards and the judgment to call them out.
Schedule:
Monday to Friday, with regular overtime and weekend availability during peak season. Shifts typically run 10–14 hours depending on project needs.
Location:
Primarily Waterloo Region, with occasional travel to project sites across Southern Ontario.
