About the Job
The Opportunity:
We're seeking an experienced Sewer and Watermain Foreman to lead field crews on municipal infrastructure projects. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll oversee daily operations, ensure quality and safety standards, and mentor crew members on complex underground utility installations.

Key Responsibilities:
Project Leadership:
  • Supervise and coordinate sewer and watermain installation crews on active job sites.
  • Manage daily workflow, equipment deployment, and resource allocation.
  • Conduct site inspections to ensure compliance with specifications and safety protocols.
  • Communicate with project managers, estimators, and general contractors.

Quality & Safety:
  • Enforce safety regulations and company procedures on all sites.
  • Monitor work quality against project plans and municipal standards.
  • Identify and resolve construction challenges proactively.
  • Maintain accurate daily reports and documentation.

Team Development:
  • Train and mentor crew members in proper excavation and installation techniques.
  • Lead by example with strong work ethic and problem-solving approach.
  • Foster a collaborative, safety-focused team culture.

Required Qualifications:
Experience:
  • Minimum 5 years in sewer and watermain construction.
  • Minimum 2 years in supervisory or foreman role.
  • Proven track record leading crews on municipal infrastructure projects.

Technical Skills:
  • Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and shop drawings.
  • Knowledge of excavation methods, shoring, and underground utility installation.
  • Understanding of Ontario Provincial Standards (OPSS) and municipal requirements.
  • Familiarity with GPS-guided equipment and modern construction technology (asset).

Certifications & Licenses:
  • Valid Class G driver's license with clean driving record (required).
  • JHSC certification or willingness to obtain (asset).
  • First Aid/CPR (asset).
  • Confined Space training (asset).
